RE: [askref] Amazon Self Publishers attempting to get Libraries to purchase books? Justin M. White 30 Jun 2016 14:02 EDT
I spent this morning dealing with about 10-15 of these messages. I emailed Springshare and they have banned the email. Their advice was to continue marking these as spam, and the filter will learn to block these messages. If you respond, you won't be able to mark the message of spam, so my advice (for all of our sanity) is to hesitate in responding on these kinds of messages, and check the ticket queue to see if they are popping up again and again. Winter in America, Free Town, and The Rise of Caesar, as I do so enjoy his writing. Thank you for your time and cooperation. Ms. Janice Small Questioner Information Name: Janice Small Email: jan41958@gmail.com We have gotten this exact message from the same person twice. The books in question are self published through Amazon Createspace. I was wondering if other libraries have gotten the same or similar requests. Feel free to reply to me off list.
