OK. That took a while. Sorry.
Here's what I did, just in case anyone else encounters the same:
My computer never gave me an option to Run the jnlp in Firefox. I tried Internet Explorer and it did not think I had any Java installed. I reinstalled Java using Internet Explorer, then re-opened Firefox and voila! Finally! I'm up and running again. This may have been a convoluted way of reminding the computer to work, but maybe it will help someone else...

Uh oh. I am supposed to be on Collaborative right now, but I cannot seem to  get past the need to open a jnlp file. This is new. Any advice?
