Hi Justin,

We looked at several screensharing programs to use with reference consultations and found 2 options best for us: Google Hangouts and Skype for Business. These could also be used to meet with the AAL patron online.

All of our students have access to Skype for Business, and since our educational emails are all part of Gmail (educational system), students already have a Google account created. You can see more at our LibGuide: http://libguides.fau.edu/googlehangouts

A Florida Library Webinar was also presented and recorded on January 27th of this year and is available from them "on demand." https://floridalibrarywebinars.org/videoaudio-reference-consultation-with-google-hangout-ondemand/

Hi all,

I'm curious if anyone has experimented with using conferencing tools like WebEx or GoToMeeting to try and integrate a screensharing aspect into their digital reference? Sometimes I feel it would be nice to have with certain technical issues, but the software we currently have isn't lightweight enough or integrated into LibChat.
